A Tribute to My Father Vytautas Skuodis

"Never bend your head.
Always hold it high.
Look the world straight in the eye."

-Helen Keller

The journal and the collection of links is a tribute to my father Vytautas Skuodis. Most postings will lead you to the articles about his life's work or events in some way related to his causes - freedom of conscience and freedom of his beloved motherland LITHUANIA.

My father had suffered a severe heart attack in 2008 and never fully recovered, yet continued writing and publishing articles and books relevant to the modern culture and history. He had died one day before his latest book had to be introduced to the public. Thanks to people like Vytautas Benedict Skuodis the dream of FREEDOM will never die.

Lord's Prayer and more...

Dear God,
Let the tiny industrious, beautiful countries, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, remain free, for they are not a threat to the bullies who are now aiming heavy weaponry at their borders under the pretense that those tiny countries are a "threat". You know, that the bullies need the land to position their weaponry aiming it at the West. You know that as a ten-year old boy my father with his friends had resolved to free Lithuania from the occupying forces. Please do not let Vytautas Skuodis' and his compatriot's sacrifice be in vain. Let their legacy live in the minds and hearts of the youth of those countries.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

********************************************
Tėve mūsų, kuris esi danguje!
Teesie šventas Tavo vardas,
teateinie Tavo karalystė,
teesie Tavo valia
kaip danguje, taip ir žemėje.

Kasdienės mūsų duonos duok mums šiandien
ir atleisk mums mūsų kaltes,
kaip ir mes atleidžiame savo kaltininkams.
Ir neleisk mūsų gundyti,
bet gelbėk mus nuo pikto.
Amen.
